This report confirms what w have long warned for: We cannot follow the money.
This is a 577 billion euro facility, yet the Commission never collected what the measures actually cost, so it cannot tell us whether the money was well spent. This is absolutely craizy.
Only the 100 largest recipients are published. The contractors who actually receive the funds stay hidden.
And the Commission has rejected both of the Court’s recommendations. It is shameful.
How can the Commission refuse to even measure how 577 billion euro was spent, and still ask taxpayers to trust it with the next budget?
We will do everything to make sure the next financial framework does not repeat this. We and the taxpayer have the right to receive full cost data and full tranparency as binding conditions.
